Family Support
Counseling is provided to families affected by the serious illness or death of a child. Support is available for Pinellas County families who have experienced an unexpected or sudden death of a child, such as sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), homicide, suicide, drug over dose or perinatal loss.
Sibling Support
Counseling is available for children coping with the serious illness or death of a sibling. Counselors, specialized in pediatrics and child development, use treatment interventions such as art and play to help the sibling understand the seriously ill child’s illness.
Perinatal Loss
Counseling support is available for any family affected by pregnancy loss. Services may begin when a diagnosis is made during pregnancy or after the delivery. In addition to counseling support, a referral may be made, if desired, to a perinatal loss doula, who is trained to provide comfort care to mothers during the birthing process.
