Care for the Whole Family

Illness, caregiving and grief affect the whole family. Often, physicians, facility staff and other health care providers hear the stories of stress, anxiety and depression when a person is coping with the serious illness or death of someone in their life.

You can help caregivers and survivors by:

  • Sharing helpful information and resources
  • Telling caregivers and families about
The Hospice's counseling and support options
  • Referring patients and families to hospice services before or during a time of crisis
  • Suggesting The Hospice's grief support services when there has been a death due to
    any cause

The Hospice’s philosophy embraces caring for everyone who is affected by illness, caregiving and grief.

We can provide support when:

  • A parent loses a child or unborn child, or is coping with a child's serious illness
  • A patient and family is making choices about treatment decisions and advance care planning
  • A family or friend is grieving the loss of a loved one
  • A caregiver needs support, assistance or information
  • Workplace staff are coping with the illness or death of a colleague or with the challenges that come with balancing caregiving and work responsibilities
