The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast provides a wide array of programs and services to
the community in many different settings. Our dedicated staff of professionals and
volunteers work with patients and families in their homes, nursing homes, assisted
and independent living facilities, hospitals as well as our Hospice House Woodside
inpatient residence.
Do you need care or know someone who does?
Programs and Services we bring to you include:
- Medical care and treatment
- Alternative therapies (i.e. massage and therapeutic touch, expressive arts, music therapy, pet therapy, aroma therapy, humor therapy)
- Social work
- Spiritual care
- Grief counseling
- Palliative care
- Delivery of medications and medical supplies and equipment
- Respite for caregivers
- Case management
- Homemaker services
The Hospice also provides programs and services to the community at
its three community service centers.
They include:
- Grief counseling for children and adults
- Grief and loss support groups for children and adults
- Community resource libraries
- Community bereavement services
- Community memorial services
- Community education events and trainings
- Holiday grief programs
- Caregiver coffee breaks
- Cultural and diversity events
Out in the community, The Hospice provides outreach and education about
hospice care and services at faith-based organizations, schools, community fairs
and events, job fairs, government agencies, private organizations and businesses,
healthcare organizations, neighborhood associations, workplaces and more. We also
host and sponsor events in the community such as our annual grief camps and retreats
for children as well as people infected or affected by HIV/AIDS.
In addition to the programs and services of The Hospice are those offered by our
family of programs. These
encompass advanced care planning, HIV/AIDS programs, special events and fundraising,
medical records software technology and end-of-life research, trainings and products.
