New Name, Same Community Hospice!

Why is The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast changing its name?

The name change reflects what has become most familiar to people. Research shows that people in our community and even around the country call us Suncoast Hospice already. Changing our name makes it easier for people and does away with confusion about what our name is. While we will stop using The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, that name will still belong to our hospice.

Does the name change mean that The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast has changed hands? Has another organization taken it over and changed its name?

No. Suncoast Hospice remains your comprehensive, not-for-profit community hospice and has not changed hands. Our name has changed but not our mission. In other words, we’re still us.

Will there be a change in the organization’s leadership?

No. The leadership of Suncoast Hospice will be the same, led by Mary J. Labyak, president and executive director for nearly 30 years.

Will contact information for Suncoast Hospice be the same as for The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast?

Will there be changes in the programs and services provided by Suncoast Hospice?

Is there any specific meaning attached to the new logo?

The Suncoast Hospice logo is comprised of five interconnecting circles. Circles indicate the passage of time, cycles and repetition. The circle of life reminds us of wholeness and continuity of our care. Wherever you enter the continuum – you stay with us – circling through our support and services. Our circles show interconnectedness – a continuity of care for those we serve as selections are made from our programs and services.
