Hospice care provides comfort at the end-of-life. It includes relieving physical, emotional and spiritual pain that comes with terminal illness, so life may be enjoyed as much as possible. Hospice care also includes guidance and support for families and caregivers.

Calvin’s Story –Find Peace with Suncoast Hospice Spiritual Care
Calvin Crews always has been a man of faith and service. After years of working for the military and government and earning several degrees, he devoted his life to what came naturally to him, spiritual care.
Calvin is a longtime community pastor and Suncoast Hospice chaplain. He ministers to Suncoast Hospice patients and families of all faiths, offering a listening ear, prayer and support so they may find spiritual healing.
“My work as a hospice chaplain is an extension of what I do as a pastor. The spiritual component is as important in death as it is in our journey through life. I deal with the eternal. If a person’s soul is at peace, the rest of that person follows. To me, what I do is as effective at alleviating pain and suffering as medicine. I love what I do. It’s a calling,” Calvin said.
Calvin believes in Suncoast Hospice’s mission to bring comfort and joy to those who are dying and to support their loved ones. He outreaches to all communities letting them know Suncoast Hospice is here for them.
“Suncoast Hospice is not a Christian organization. It’s diverse. I would love to see all diverse groups benefit from our programs. It’s my passion to define hospice care in terms that people can understand. I’m a spokesperson and advocate for what Suncoast Hospice can do for patients and families,” he said.
