Palliative Care Pain and Symptom Management.jpg

Your comfort is our priority

Living with a serious illness or chronic condition can make you feel that you no longer have control over your physical health and well-being. However, your pain and symptoms are manageable with the proper treatment. Our staff and trained volunteers are experts in pain control and symptom management.

Suncoast Hospice is here to help you regain a sense of control over your life by helping you design a personalized palliative care program to ease your pain, discomfort and symptoms.

Palliative care eases not only the physical pain but can also help with the emotional and spiritual pain you, as well as your family and caregivers may be experiencing.

Your Palliative Care Team

Suncoast Hospice takes a team approach to your palliative care, and you and your family guide the care provided. We come to you, wherever you live – your residence, your hospital, your nursing home, assisted living facility or any other place you may call home.

Depending on your needs, members of your palliative care team may include:
  • Board-certified palliative care physicians
  • Registered nurses
  • Nurse practitioners
  • Palliative therapists
  • Home health aides
  • Licensed counseling therapist
  • Chaplains
  • Volunteer help
Your palliative care team will follow your healthcare wishes and help you to manage and control pain and ease any symptoms.

We understand how painful living with a chronic condition or terminal illness can be. We can help you find the information and support you need to make decisions that are right for you.

Benefits of palliative care

Palliative care consists of symptom treatment, emotional support and
spiritual support, which help ease the physical and emotional pain and
suffering caused by a serious illness. Watch Dr. Guerrier discuss the
benefits of palliative care for his patients.

Stories

Hear stories from those we serve every day and the lives that have been touched and healed by Suncoast Hospice programs.

Sometimes, in the midst of the darkness of dementia, moments of light shine through. Clara Witt experienced such a magical moment with her husband. He had severe dementia and was under Suncoast Hospice care that included music therapy. He spoke to her that day after months of silence.
