Our Physicians

Although you can continue under the care of your own physician, your care team may include one of our physicians, who are experts in pain and symptom management.

Compassionate by nature, their medical expertise encompasses both hospice and palliative care. Some, including our medical director, are specialists who are board-certified in hospice and palliative medicine. With a caring touch, your Suncoast Hospice physician will help bring you the relief you need to maintain your day-to-day life.
 

Deidra Woods, MD, FACP, FAAHPM, CMD
Medical Director

Dr. Deidra Woods has been our medical director since spring 2010. She began her medical career as a registered nurse, later becoming a doctor specializing in internal medicine and geriatrics. She has worked in private practice, and has served as medical director for a nursing home and two other hospices.

Dr. Woods belongs to the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association and the American Geriatric Society, among others. She has made numerous presentations before professional groups and fulfilled faculty appointments at the University of South Florida’s College of Medicine and Mercer University’s department of Internal Medicine.
